A one-of-a-kind vintage perfume compact repurposed to be filled with our limited edition jasmine enfleurage perfume. The jasmine enfleurage comes in a separate 4ml jar for filling at home to avoid melting during shipping.*
The Egg Necklace Compact is vintage Avon and is in excellent condition.
This aromatic perfume is a single note, all natural, jasmine enfleurage. The scent is soft and sweet, nearly identical to the flower. Similar to the scent of the plant, the perfume is initially strong, intoxicating, floral and luscious. It wears well as a single note or layered with other natural scents. The aroma is just as fleeting as the flower after a few hours.

As the enfleurage is made with unrefined coconut oil, contents can melt. This container performs best when it adorns an alter or counter top in your wash room. We do not advise taking your compact on-the-go. Enjoy daily after your bathing ritual or anytime you need an aromatic boost. Once you have used every last drop, simply rinse and reuse the vintage compact.
*Originally I had planned to fill each one with jasmine enfleurage — but alas the coconut is too delicate to be contained in a compact that doesn’t seal. So each vintage compact comes with a 4ml bottle for filling at home. These little gems are one of a kind and have been lightly loved. If you are looking for a perfect vintage piece, these items may not be for you. All of them are in good condition with a little added character.

This product has not been filtered, processed or heated. Some sediment is natural.
Enfleurage is a process of extracting aromatic compounds from delicate flowers using animal or vegetable fats. Tahitians use coconut oil, spread out over a large surface. Each day, the old flowers are removed and new flowers are delicately placed in the coconut oil. This happens every day over a period of weeks to capture the sensual and intoxicating scent of the flower. Enfleurage is still the most cost effective way to extract essential oils from the more delicate flowers such as jasmine, gardenia, lily, plumeria, tuberose and others. The gardenia flower is still used to make Monoi Tiare Tahiti - a powerful perfume oil made by this old world process. This enfleurage extraction process requires time and attention and is still traditionally practiced by many on the islands of Tahiti and elsewhere.
My process begins with a large sheet of glass. Unrefined coconut oil is worked into a soft, buttery texture and spread out across the glass. Freshly harvested jasmine flowers are delicately pressed into the coconut oil. The fats absorb the delicate and fleeting compounds for 12-24 hours. I repeat the process each day with fresh jasmine flowers. A daily meditation with the most aromatic teachers.

The Greek name for bay laurel, Laurus nobillis, translates as praise and nobility. In Ancient Greece, bay laurel wreaths were a symbol of the highest status. The tree was originally called Daphne, named after the Greek mountain nymph who was a priestess of Gaia, Mother Earth.
The Grain Mother is both mother and grandmother, embodying all aspects of present and future. She provides sustenance for the present while simultaneously providing seeds to ensure her bloodline lives on. She is a part of the never-ending cycle of death and rebirth.
